How to make a coupon binder:

Most couponers opt for the binder organizational method for these reasons because it allows for lots of coupons, it’s easy to flip through and find coupons, the materials to set it up are relatively inexpensive and it’s portable. This is definitely helpful if you keep a lot of coupons.

I do recommend that you pull out the coupons you plan to use for your trip ahead of time, but still bring your binder with you for those hot clearance finds!

Here’s what you will need to get started with your own Coupon Binder:

  • Calculator
  • 3 or 5 ring binder
  • Currency Holders
  • Baseball Sleeves
  • Tabs to separate each category/section
  • extra paper for notes
  • pencil holders (to hold the coupons you plan to use that day)
  • Pencil/Pen

*Be sure your name and contact information is somewhere on the binder!

If you don’t want to buy a big binder yet, start out with a 3-ring binder that you have laying around, or buy a small one. However, if you want to bypass spending a few dollars, it would be worth your while and money to just invest in a coupon binder or a 5-ring binder. I always find the best deals on binders after the back to school craze!

There are a lot of different ways you can organize your binder. Instead of us telling you how to organize YOUR binder, check out the resources that we’ve listed and make your binder in how you will remember it when you’re shopping. At the end of the day what works for me, may not work for you. So find a style that you’re comfortable with and rock it!

It’s best not to organize your binder in alphabetical order, but to organize by category. I’ve seen people in the store that had their binders in alphabetical order constantly flipping back and forth trying to decide which coupon is better, but missed something because Progresso Soup was in a different section than Campbell’s Soup. I have my binder organized by the store that I shop at the most. The downside of this can be shopping at a different store and rearranging my whole binder while standing in the middle of the store! 🙂

Coupon Magic Organizer is also the ONLY place that I am aware of that sells double-sided holders. They also sell the baseball card holders, but the ones that are slightly bigger than the regular baseball holders, so you can hold more stuff. They also sell currency holders. This is also a great place to just buy a binder full w/ everything that you need, but expect to spend about $50 bucks (you can find a coupon code for their site.

If you only need sheet protectors, you can also order them on ebay- http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=sheet+protectors+9+pocket&_sacat=0&_odkw=sheet+protectors+card&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
