Meijer Meal Planning Week 7/16: 6 Meals $39 Bucks

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

It’s another 10 for $10 week at Meijer, and that means amazing deals to feed your family!  Check out these six meals that will keep them in smiles this week!

Meal 1: Stuffed Peppers with Steamed Broccoli  $7.99

  • 4 peppers (red, yellow, or orange)
  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1 egg (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • 1 C cooked rice (pantry)
  • 1 crown broccoli

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the ground chuck, egg, salt and pepper, oregano, and cooked rice.  Cut the tops of the peppers and clean out the seeds and membranes.  Stuff each pepper with ¼ of the meat mixture.  Place in a pan that holds them tightly upright.  Bake in a 350°F oven for 1 ½ hours, until the meat mixture is brown throughout.  Steam the broccoli to the desired doneness.

Meal 2:  Grilled Chicken Cacciatore with Pasta  $5.54

  • 1 ½ lbs boneless/skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 jar Meijer pasta sauce, any red variety
  • 1 orange pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced (pantry)
  • 1 box Meijer pasta, any variety

Directions:  In a small slow cooker, place the sauce, pepper, onion, and garlic.  Season with oregano and basil, if desired.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Grill the chicken until no pink remains in the center.  Cook pasta according to package directions.  Serve the chicken over the pasta, with the sauce poured over.

Meal 3:  Pulled Beef Barbecue with Fresh Pickles  $8.98

  • 1 ½ lb chuck eye steak
  • 1 bottle Open Pit barbecue sauce, any variety
  • 1 pkg Meijer hamburger buns
  • 1 greenhouse cucumber, sliced thin
  • 1 onion, sliced thin (pantry)
  • ½ C white vinegar (pantry)
  • ½ t salt (pantry)
  • ¼ t pepper (pantry)
  • 1 t sugar (pantry)

Directions:  Place the steak in a slow cooker and top with the barbecue sauce.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  In a large bowl, place the cucumber, onion, vinegar, salt, pepper, and sugar.  Mix well and refrigerate for at least an hour.  Shred the beef and serve on buns with pickles.

 

Meal 4:  Grilled Teriyaki Pork Chops with Rice  $4.98

  • 2 lbs assorted bone in pork chops
  • ½ C soy sauce (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • ¼ C olive or sesame oil (pantry)
  • 2 T brown sugar (pantry)
  • 2 boxes Rice a Roni, any flavor, plus ingredients per directions on package

Directions:  In a gallon plastic zippy bag, mix the soy sauce, garlic, oil, and sugar.  Add the pork chops and seal.  Refrigerate at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.  Grill the pork chops over medium high heat until no pink remains in the center.  Prepare the rice per the package directions.

Meal 5:  Grilled Sausage Shishkabobs with Rice $3.74

  • 1 pkg John Morell smoked sausage, cut into ½ inch slices
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped (pantry)
  • 1 zucchini, chopped
  • 1 pkg mushrooms, cleaned

Directions:  Skewer vegetables and meat on metal or soaked bamboo skewers.  Grill to desired doneness.

Meal 6:  Tamale Pie  $8.18

  • 1 box Jiffy corn muffin mix
  • 1 egg (pantry)
  • ⅓ C milk (pantry)
  • 1 can Meijer creamed corn
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 pkg Meijer taco seasoning mix
  • 1 10 oz can Meijer red enchilada sauce
  • 1 pkg Meijer shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the muffin mix, egg, milk, and creamed corn.  Pour into a greased 9×13 pan.  Bake in a 400°F oven for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick in the center comes out clean.  While the crust is baking, brown the ground beef and mix in the seasoning packet, per directions on package.  When the crust is baked, poke holes in it with the handle of a wooden spoon.  Pour the enchilada sauce over the top, allowing it to soak in.  Spread the meat over the top and top with the cheese.  Bake, covered, in a 350°F oven for 20 minutes.  Remove the cover and bake another 5 to brown the cheese.  Serve with additional sauce, sour cream, or guacamole if desired.

This week, six mouthwatering meals will cost only $39.41!
