For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

The New Year is here, and so are some great sales at Meijer.  Check out these delicious recipes that will start your year off right!

 

Meal 1:  Slow Cooker Greek Chicken with Crushed Potatoes and Broccoli  $7.52

  • 1 ½ lb boneless/skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ btl Kraft Greek vinaigrette dressing
  • 2 lb Meijer gourmet petite yellow potatoes, washed and patted dry
  • 2 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 2 T butter, melted (pantry)
  • Parmesan (pantry)
  • 2 lb broccoli, cut into florets

Directions:  Place the chicken in a slow cooker and pour the dressing over the top.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Place the potatoes on a rimmed baking sheet, drizzle with the olive oil, and bake in a 425°F oven for 40 minutes, until potatoes are tender.  Using a potato masher, stiff spatula, or fork, crush the potatoes flat.  Drizzle with the butter, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and parmesan.  Return to the oven for 10-15 minutes, until potatoes are brown and crispy.  Prepare the broccoli by steaming or sauteing.

 

Meal 2:  Brown Sugar Pork Loin with Rice and Vegetables  $8.64

  • 3 lb boneless pork loin
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed (pantry)
  • 1 ⅓ C brown sugar (pantry)
  • 1 T dijon or coarse mustard (pantry)
  • 1 T balsamic vinegar (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Knorr rice sides, any variety
  • 1 pkg Birds Eye frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the pork loin in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the garlic, brown sugar, mustard, and vinegar.  Pour over the pork, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Prepare the rice and vegetables as directed on the package.  Save about half of the cooked pork for tomorrow’s meal.

 

Meal 3:  Pulled Pork Sammies with Fries  $5.17

  • 1 ½ lb leftover pork, shredded
  • 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
  • 1 pkg Meijer hamburger buns
  • 1 pkg Meijer frozen French fries

 

Directions:  Place the pork in a saucepan and stir in about half the bottle of sauce.  Heat over medium heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring often.  Prepare the fries as directed on the package.  Serve with extra barbecue sauce, if desired.

 

Meal 4: Pasta with Turkey and Peppers  $6.49

  • 1 box Meijer green box radiatore pasta
  • 1 red pepper, chopped and seeded
  • 1 orange pepper, chopped and seeded
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 3 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 t fennel seed (pantry)
  • ½ t crushed red pepper (pantry)
  • Parmesan (pantry)

 

Directions:  Heat the oil in a skillet over medium high heat.  Add the turkey and saute, breaking into small pieces.  Add the pepper, garlic, and fennel seed, stirring often, until the peppers are crisp tender.  Cook the pasta according to the package directions; drain.  Add to the saute pan and stir.  Add the crushed red pepper and serve with parmesan for sprinkling.

 

Meal 5:  Slow Cooker Roast with Mashers and Vegetables  $13.39

  • 2 lb bottom round roast
  • 1 can Meijer Cream of Mushroom soup
  • 1 envelop Lipton Beefy Onion dry soup mix
  • 2.5 lb Klondike rose potatoes
  • Milk and butter for mashing (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Birds Eye frozen vegetables, any variety

 

Directions:  Place the roast in a slow cooker.  Top with soups, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Scrub the potatoes and cut into cubes.  Place in a saucepan with enough water to cover.  Salt the water, bring to a boil, and simmer until tender.  Mash with milk and butter to desired consistency.  Prepare the vegetables per package directions.

 

Meal 6:  Easy Slow Cooker Goulash  $6.87

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar Ragu, any red variety
  • 2 14.5 oz cans Meijer Naturals petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 lb Meijer green box elbow macaroni
  • Parmesan (pantry)

Directions:  Break up the ground beef and place in the slow cooker with the sauce, tomatoes with juice, onion, and garlic.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Add the pasta, turn to high, cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, until pasta is tender.  Serve with parmesan.
