Meijer Meal Planning Week 1/29: 6 Meals $40 Bucks

This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meijer has a lot of big game day meals on sale this week, but even if you aren’t celebrating the game, there are great options to feed your family for less.  Check out these six mouth-watering ideas for your family!

 

Meal 1: One Pork Loin, Two Nights  $7.65

  • 3 lb pork loin half
  • 2 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 3 T mesquite seasoning (such as Grill Mates) (pantry)
  • 4 Russet potatoes
  • Butter, sour cream, as desired (pantry)
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the pork loin, fat side up, in a slow cooker.  Spread the olive oil over the pork loin and coat with the seasoning.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  About one hour before serving, scrub and pierce the potatoes.  Bake in a 375°F oven for an hour or until tender when pierced with a fork.  Prepare the vegetables as desired.

 

Meal 2:  Pork Quesadillas  $4.83

  • Leftover pork, sliced thin
  • 2 red peppers, sliced thin
  • 2 onions, sliced thin (pantry)
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 pkg LaBanderita 8” tortillas

Directions:  Saute the peppers and onions in a saute pan with the olive oil until slightly tender.  Place a tortilla in a dry frying pan over medium heat.  Spread pork, peppers, and onions on the tortilla and cover with another tortilla.  Allow to brown and flip over with a large spatula.  Brown the other side.  Repeat with remaining ingredients.  Cut into wedges before serving.

 

Meal 3:  Meatloaf Muffins with Fries and Salad  $9.36

  • 1.5 ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced (pantry)
  • 1 egg beaten (pantry)
  • 1 C breadcrumbs (pantry)
  • 2 T Montreal steak seasoning (pantry)
  • 1 C barbecue sauce (pantry)
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce (pantry)
  • 1 bag Ore Ida fries
  • 1 bag Dole Classic Romaine lettuce
  • ½ lb Roma tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ hothouse cucumber, sliced
  • Salad dressing (pantry)

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the ground beef, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, and steak seasoning.  In a small bowl, mix the barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce.  Add half of this mixture to the meat.  Spray a 12-cup muffin tin with nonstick spray.  Form the meat into 12 muffins and place in the tin.  Top with remaining sauce.  Bake in a 450°F oven for 20 minutes.  Cut one muffin open to check doneness, no pink should remain.  Bake the fries according to the package directions.  Assemble the salad in a bowl with your preferred dressing.

 

Meal 4:  Beef Stew  $5.99

  • 1 ½ lb chuck roast, cubed
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced (pantry)
  • 2 carrots, sliced (pantry)
  • 2 onions, diced (pantry)
  • 2 potatoes, diced (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • ½ t pepper (pantry)
  • 2 bay leaves (pantry)
  • Water

Directions:  Place the beef in a slow cooker with the vegetables and seasonings.  Top with water to cover the ingredients.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Thicken stew with flour mixed with water, if desired.  Serve with crusty bread.

 

Meal 5:  Hawaiian Brats with Rice and Vegetables  $5.50

  • 1 pkg Johnsonville brats
  • ½ cored pineapple, cubed
  • ¼ C brown sugar (pantry)
  • ½ t red pepper flakes (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the brats and pineapple in a saute pan.  Cover and heat over medium-low heat, allowing the brats to simmer for about 20 minutes.  Turn heat up to medium high and stir in the brown sugar and red pepper flakes.  Stir frequently, allowing the sugar to melt.  Remove from heat when the brats are no longer pink in the middle.  Place the rice and water in a large saucepan.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.  Prepare the vegetables as desired.

 

Meal 6:  Creamy Chicken and Pasta  $6.72

  • 1 ½ lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed
  • 2 cans Meijer Cream of Mushroom soup
  • 1 box Meijer green box pasta, any variety

Directions:  Place the chicken and soup in a slow cooker.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Prepare the pasta as directed on the package.  Serve the chicken over the pasta.
