This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

We are starting to see some football ads.  You’d think a big game is coming up!  There are plenty of sales to give you great options this week for meals.  Here are six great ways to take advantage of them and feed your family for less!

Meal 1:  Slow Cooker Pork Shoulder with Garlic Mashers and Vegetables  $11.33

This meal will have leftovers for another meal in the week.

7 lb pork shoulder butt

2.5 lbs red potatoes, scrubbed and diced (peeled if desired)

Milk (pantry)

2 T Butter (pantry)

3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)

1 bag Birds Eye vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the pork in a slow cooker.  Sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  About 40 minutes before serving, place the potatoes in a saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a boil.  Simmer 20-30 minutes, until potatoes are tender.  While the potatoes are simmering, place the butter, ¼ C milk, and garlic in a small saucepan.  Simmer 10-15 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant and the milk is infused.  Drain the potatoes and mash with the milk mixture, adding more milk and butter to desired consistency.  Prepare the vegetables as desired.

Meal 2:  Pork Apple Pie  $4.00

1 lb leftover pork shoulder, cut into small cubes

1 onion, diced (pantry)

2 C chicken stock (pantry)

1 potato, peeled and diced (pantry)

3 sage leaves, minced (pantry)

1 T apple cider vinegar (pantry)

3 granny smith apples, peeled and chopped

1 puff pastry sheet, thawed

1 egg, beaten, if desired (pantry)

Directions:  Place the pork, onion, chicken stock, and potato in a saute pan and bring to a simmer.  When the potato is nearly tender, add the sage, vinegar, and apples.  Simmer another 10 minutes, until the stock is reduced.  Place mixture in a pie pan.  Cover with puff pastry, trimmed to outside edge of the pan.  Brush with egg if desired.  Bake in a 400°F oven for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Meal 3:  Lemon Pepper Tilapia with Roasted Brussel Sprouts and Rice $5.54

1 lb The Fishin’ Company tilapia filets, thawed and patted dry

Lemon pepper (pantry)

1 bag Meijer frozen Brussel sprouts

3 T butter (pantry)

1 box Rice a Roni, any variety (plus ingredients to prepare, per package)

Directions:  Place the tilapia on a baking sheet and sprinkle liberally with lemon pepper.  Bake in a 400° oven for 10-15 minutes, until fish flakes easily with a fork.  Place the Brussel sprouts in a saute pan with the butter over medium heat.  Saute until the sprouts are brown and tender.  Prepare the rice as directed on the package.

4-8  slices American cheese

1 bag Meijer potato chips, any flavor

Directions:  Place the onions on a baking sheet in 4 piles.  Form the meat into 4 balls and place one on each pile of onions.  Press flat and thin, pressing the onions into the beef.  Sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper.  Heat the butter in a saute pan over medium heat and add the burgers, onion side down.  Cook until the onions are brown and crispy.  Flip to the other side and turn up the heat slightly.  Cook until the burger is browned and cooked throughout.  Top with cheese, any condiments, and serve on the buns with the chips.

1 ½ lbs country ribs

1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, any variety

1 pkg Meijer pretzel hamburger buns

1 pkg Johnsonville smoked sausage

1 ½ lb Russet potatoes, sliced thin

1 lb yellow onions, peeled and sliced thin
