For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meijer has some great sales on fresh foods this week!  Check out these amazing meals that will keep your family in smiles!

Meal 1:  Turkey Lettuce Wraps  $4.08

  • 1 ½ lb Jennie-O ground turkey
  • 1 T olive oil (pantry)
  • ¼ t grated ginger (pantry)
  • ¼ C green onions, sliced thin
  • 2 T soy sauce (pantry)
  • 1 t sriracha sauce (pantry)
  • 1 head organic romaine lettuce

Directions:  Brown the turkey with the olive oil in a saute pan.  Add the ginger, onions, and sauces, stirring well.  Bring to a simmer then remove from heat; cool slightly.  Break apart the romaine lettuce into leaves.  Serve the turkey with the lettuce and wrap like a burrito.

 

Meal 2:  Crispy Cod with Parmesan Butter and Salad  $6.26

  • 1 lb frozen cod, thawed and patted dry
  • 2 T olive oil (pantry)
  • ½ C cornflakes, crushed (pantry)
  • 1 stick butter (pantry)
  • ¼ C Parmesan (pantry)
  • 1 head organic romaine lettuce, chopped
  • ½ pkg Campari tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • Salad dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  Dip the top of the fish in the olive oil then in the cornflakes.  Place on a baking sheet and bake in a 400°F oven for about 10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.  Heat the butter in a small saucepan.  Add the parmesan and heat until combined.  Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl.  Serve the fish with ramekins of the butter parm sauce.

 

Meal 3:  Slow Cooker Pork Carnitas  $7.42

  • 2 lb pork loin
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 2 t oregano (pantry)
  • 1 t cumin (pantry)
  • 1 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 1 onion, chopped (pantry)
  • 4 cloves garlic, diced (pantry)
  • 1 pkg La Bandarita flour tortilla family pack
  • ½ bag Kraft shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ 16 oz container Meijer sour cream

Directions:  Place the pork loin in a slow cooker, fat side up.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper, oregano, and cumin.  Drizzle the olive oil over the top, add the onions and garlic, cover and set on low for 6-8 hours.  Remove from the slow cooker and shred, discarding any fat.  Return to the slow cooker.  Warm the tortillas and layer with pork, cheese, and sour cream.

 

Meal 4:  Old Fashioned Meat Loaf with Mashers and Vegetables  $5.61

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • ½ C breadcrumbs (pantry)
  • 2 eggs (pantry)
  • ½ t salt (pantry)
  • ¼ t pepper (pantry)
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t basil (pantry)
  • 2 ½ lb Russet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • Milk and butter (pantry)
  • ½ 32 oz pkg Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, and seasonings until well mixed.  Place on a rimmed baking sheet and bake in a 375°F oven for an hour, until no pink remains in the center.  Place the potatoes in a saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a simmer.  Cook until tender, about 20 minutes.  Drain and mash with butter and milk to desired consistency.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

 

Meal 5:  Sausage and Rice with Salad  $9.34

  • 1 pkg Hillshire Farm smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 bags Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice
  • 1 bag Dole salad blend
  • ½ pkg Campari tomatoes, diced
  • Salad dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  Saute the sausage in a saute pan until browned.  Add the rice and continue to saute until hot.  Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl.

Meal 6:  Barbecue Rib with Fries  $9.54

  • 3 lb Country Style Ribs
  • 1 btl Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, any variety
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen French fries

Directions:  Layer the ribs with the sauce in a slow cooker, cover, and set on low for 6-8 hours.  Prepare the fries as directed on the package.
