Meijer Meal Planning Week 5/3 : 6 Meals Under $40

It’s a new shopping week at Meijer and here’s an awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $40, along with a few things from your pantry! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale date ending 5/9 )

What could be better than knowing you are feeding your family and saving money? This week, Meijer has some awesome sales that will help you do just that. And if you have a grill, all the better! Summer is approaching and grilling season is here!

Meal 1: Grilled Marinated Chicken, Grilled Potatoes, and Steamed Vegetables $6.23

2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast

½ bottle Italian dressing (pantry)

4 Idaho Russet potatoes

butter (pantry)

1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions: Place the chicken in a plastic zippy bag. Pour dressing in, remove air, and seal. Allow to marinate at least an hour, preferably overnight. Scrub, pierce and bake potatoes in a 425°F oven for an hour or until soft. Grill the chicken until no pink remains. Prepare the vegetables as desired.

Meal 2: Tortellini with Grilled Sausage and Red Sauce $6.99

1 pkg Eckrich Smoked Sausage

1 bag Meijer frozen cheese tortellini

1 jar Bertolli pasta sauce

Directions: Grill the sausage until hot and slightly crispy. Cut into slices. Place the sausage and sauce in a saucepan and heat until bubbly. Prepare the tortellini per package directions. Mix in a large bowl and serve hot.

Meal 3: Pierogies and Onions $4

2 boxes pierogies

5 large onions, sliced (pantry)

1 stick butter (pantry)

Sour Cream (optional)

Directions: Place the butter in a saute pan and heat over medium heat until melted. Add in the onions and saute until browned. Remove from heat. While the onions are cooking, place the pierogies in boiling water. Cook until they float; remove from water into a bowl or dish. When the onions are browned, place them in a bowl. Saute the pierogies until browned, turning once. Serve hot with sour cream, if desired.

Meal 4: Brats and Smashed Potato Salad $8.88

1 pkg Johnsonville Brats, any flavor

1.5 lbs Meijer Fully Loaded Smashed Potato Salad (from the deli)

Directions: Prepare the brats by baking or grilling. Serve with your favorite condiments and potato salad.

Meal 5: Turkey Burgers with Fries $7.49

1 pkg Jennie-O ground turkey breast

2 cloves garlic (pantry)

salt/pepper (pantry)

Hamburger buns

1 pkg Meijer fries, any variety

Directions: Mix the ground turkey, garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into patties and grill or broil until no pink remains. Prepare the fries per package directions. Serve burgers on the buns with your favorite condiments.

Meal 6: Barbecue Chicken Pizza $6.17

1 tube Meijer pizza crust (refrigerated section)

½ rotisserie chicken, shredded

½ bottle barbecue sauce (pantry)

½ onion, diced (pantry)

1 pkg Kraft shredded cheddar

Directions: Place the pizza crust on a greased cookie sheet, as directed on the package. Spread the barbecue sauce on the crust, then sprinkle with the remaining ingredients. Bake according to the package directions.
