This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

There are some amazing sales at Meijer this week, and you’re going to be amazed at the meal possibilities this week, some with leftovers for later meals, and the price you can get them all for.  Check out the meals below, then look for the total cost at the bottom.

Be sure to check our newest recipes on the blog:

Meal 1:  Ham and Bean Soup  $2.58

  • 1 bag (16 oz) Meijer Naturals Great Northern Beans, dry
  • 1 lb Cook’s shank portion ham (save remainder of large ham for other meals), cubed
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 2 ribs celery, chopped (pantry)
  • 2 carrots, sliced (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)

Directions:  Rinse the beans and sort out any stones.  In a large stock pot, saute the ham with the onion, celery, carrots, and garlic.  When the onions are clear, add the beans and cover with water, plus about 2 inches.  Bring to a boil, turn down to a simmer, and allow to cook for 3-4 hours, until beans are tender and the skins pop.  Serve with crusty bread if desired.

Meal 2:  Ham, Potatoes, and Cabbage  $2.88

  • 1 ½ lb Cook’s shank portion ham, cubed
  • 1 ½ lb green cabbage, chopped
  • 3 large potatoes, scrubbed and cubed
  • 2 T butter (pantry)

Directions:  In a large Dutch oven, melt the butter.  Add the ham and saute.  Add the remainder of the ingredients and saute.  Add ½ C water, cover, and steam until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.

Meal 3:  1 Pot Lasagna  $6.98

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 box Meijer rotelle pasta
  • 1 bag Kraft shredded mozzarella
  • 1 jar Ragu pasta sauce, any variety

Directions:  Brown the ground beef and drain.  Add the pasta, sauce, and refill the jar with water, adding to the pot.  Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook until the pasta is tender, about 9-12 minutes.

Meal 4:  Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice  $2.73

  • ¼ C cider vinegar (pantry)
  • 3 T brown mustard (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ½ C brown sugar (pantry)
  • 1 ½ lb split chicken breasts
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)

Directions:  Place the chicken in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the vinegar, mustard, garlic, lime juice, and brown sugar.  Pour over the chicken, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Place the rice and water in a saucepan.  Cover and simmer 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender.  Serve the chicken over the rice.

Meal 5:  Braised Pork Shoulder with Broccoli and Potatoes  $11.69

  • 6 lb pork shoulder
  • 2 onions, diced (pantry)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 t fennel seeds (pantry)
  • ½ t coriander seeds (pantry)
  • 2 C cola (pantry)
  • 2 C chicken stock (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 2 broccoli crowns
  • 4 Russet potatoes, scrubbed and pierced
  • Butter (pantry)

Directions:  Place the pork shoulder in a large slow cooker.  Sprinkle the onions, garlic, and seeds over the shoulder.  Pour the cola and stock over it, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Place the potatoes in a 400°F oven and bake until tender, about an hour.  Steam or roast the broccoli crowns to desired doneness.  Refrigerate or freeze leftovers.  Shredded pork is great for food truck style tacos.
