This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $40 bucks, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale valid 5/14-5/20 )

There are some great sales at Meijer this week for your dining pleasures, and here are six meals that will keep your food budget down while keeping your family in smiles.

Meal 1:  Ground beef Hash and Eggs  $6.24

  • 8 eggs
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen hash browns
  • 2 T ketchup (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • ½ t ground mustard (pantry)
  • ⅛ t pepper (pantry)
  • 1 pkt Meijer brown gravy

Directions:  In a sauce pan, make the gravy according to the package directions.  Brown the ground beef and onion in a saute pan and drain any excess fat.  Add the hash browns and stir well, cooking until the hash browns are crispy.  Stir the ketchup, salt, mustard, and pepper into the gravy.  Pour over the hash, stirring well.  Top with eggs, cover, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until eggs are set.

 

Meal 2:  Grilled Pork Chops with Asparagus and Rice A Roni  $3.98

  • 1 ½ lb assorted pork chops
  • 1 lb asparagus, rinsed and ends trimmed
  • 2 T butter (pantry)
  • 1 box Rice A Roni, any variety

Directions:  Grill the pork chops over medium high heat until no pink remains in the center, seasoning with salt and pepper if desired.  Place the butter in a saute pan over medium heat until melted.  Add the asparagus and saute until crisp tender.  Prepare the rice as directed on the package.

 

Meal 3:  Barbecue Chicken and Waffles  $7.45

  • 2 lb boneless/skinless chicken
  • 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
  • 1 box Eggo Waffles, buttermilk variety

Directions:  Cut the chicken into strips and place in an 8×8 baking dish.  Cover with half the barbecue sauce and bake in a 375°F oven for 35 minutes, until no pink remains in the center.  Toast the waffles in the toaster until slightly crispy.  Serve the chicken over the waffles, with extra barbecue sauce if desired.

 

Meal 4:  Sloppy Dogs, Fries, and Tomato Cucumber Salad  $8.30

  • 1 pkg Oscar Mayer meat franks, cut into ½ inch pieces
  • 1 can Manwich sauce
  • 1 bag Meijer French fries
  • 1 pkg Meijer hot dog buns
  • 1 pint grape tomatoes, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 greenhouse cucumber, cut into thin slices
  • ⅓ C apple cider or red wine vinegar (pantry)
  • ¼ C olive oil (pantry)
  • ½ t oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t salt (pantry)
  • ½ t pepper (pantry)

Directions:  In a sauce pan, place the hot dogs and Manwich sauce over medium heat and simmer until the hot dogs are hot through and plump.  Prepare the fries as directed on the package.  Place the tomatoes and cucumbers in a bowl.  Mix with the vinegar, oil, and seasonings.  Serve the hotdog mixture in the buns.

 

Meal 5: Cassoulet  $5.55

  • 1 pkg John Morrell smoked sausage, cut into ½ inch slices
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 can Meijer pinto beans, drained
  • 1 can Meijer black beans, drained
  • 1 can Meijer great northern beans, drained
  • 2 carrots, diced (pantry)
  • 2 ribs celery, diced (pantry)
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 1 large can Hunt’s Petite Diced tomatoes, drained

Directions:  Brown the sausage with the oil in a Dutch oven with the carrots, celery, and onion over medium high heat.  When the vegetables are tender and slightly brown, add in the beans and tomatoes.  Simmer 15 to 20 minutes, until the beans start to pop.  Serve with crusty bread if desired.

 

Meal 6:  Curried Chicken with Rice  $3.70

  • 1 ½ lb boneless/skinless chicken breast, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 T butter (pantry)
  • 1 T curry powder (pantry)
  • 1 small container Chobani plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)

Directions:  In a saute pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat.  Add the chicken and cook until slightly browned and cooked throughout.  Sprinkle with the curry powder and allow to simmer just a minute.  Add the yogurt and bring to a simmer.  While the chicken is cooking, place the rice and water in a saucepan.  Bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.  Serve the chicken over the rice.

This week, six mouthwatering meals will cost only $35.22!
