  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Summer is here and that means a robust grilling season!  All of the grilling recipes for this week can also be done in the oven or under the broiler.  Check out these great ideas on how to make healthy meals with Meijer sales!

Meal 1:  Grilled Loin Chops with Asparagus and Biscuits  $6.23

  • 1.5 lbs pork loin chops
  • 2 T butter (pantry)
  • Worcestershire sauce (pantry)
  • 1 lb asparagus, ends trimmed
  • 1 tube Pillsbury Grands biscuits, any variety

Directions:  Split half the butter between the chops and spread across the surface.  Place on a medium high grill and liberally sprinkle with the Worcestershire sauce. Flip the chops when they are nicely browned on the first side.  After flipping, split the remaining butter to each chop, topping with a bit more Worcestershire sauce.   Chops are done when no pink remains in the center.  Add the asparagus to the grill and cook until crisp tender.  Prepare the biscuits according to the directions on the package.

Meal 2:  Slow Cooker Chuck Roast with Broccoli and Mashers  $12.64

  • 2 lb chuck roast
  • 1 box Lipton onion soup mix
  • 2 cans Meijer cream of mushroom soup
  • 2.5 lb red skin potatoes, washed and cubed
  • Milk and butter, as desired (pantry)
  • 1 pkg fresh organic broccoli, cut into florets

Directions:  Place the chuck roast in a slow cooker.  Sprinkle the dry onion soup over the top and spoon the mushroom soup over the top.  Cover and set to low for 8 hours.  About 40 minutes before serving, place the potatoes in a saucepan and cover with water.  Salt if desired.  Bring to a boil and simmer until potatoes are tender.  Drain and mash with butter and milk to desired consistency.  Place the broccoli in a glass bowl, add ¼ cup of water, and cover.  Microwave for 3-5 minutes until crisp tender.  Serve the “gravy” from the roast, as is, over the potatoes.

Meal 3:  Teriyaki Country Ribs with Rice  $4.73

  • 2 lbs country ribs
  • ½ bottle Kikkoman teriyaki sauce
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)

Directions:  Place the ribs in a slow cooker and top with the teriyaki sauce.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours (or grill and baste with sauce until no pink remains in the center).  Place the rice and water in a large saucepan.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes, until no water remains.  Serve the ribs over the rice, if desired.
