Meijer Meal Planning Week 7/17: 6 Meals Under $33

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

 

There are some great sales on locally grown vegetables this week!  Check out these great meals that bring those onto your plate!

Meal 1:  Beef Asian Lettuce Wraps  $3.66

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped (pantry)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 T soy sauce (pantry)
  • ¼ C Hoisin sauce (pantry)
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, pulled apart into whole leaves

Directions:  Brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic in a saute pan until no pink remains; drain.  Add the soy and Hoisin sauces and simmer until reduced.  Remove from heat to a bowl and allow to cool slightly.  Add the green onions.  Place about ¼ cup of the mixture on the stem end of the lettuce leave and roll up similar to a burrito, folding in the edges.

Meal 2: Garlic Brown Sugar Pork Loin with Sauteed Zucchini  $4.94

  • 2 lb pork loin
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 4 T brown sugar (pantry)
  • 1 ½ lb zucchini and yellow squash, chopped
  • ½ lb Vidalia onion, chopped
  • 2 T olive oil (pantry)

Directions:  In a small bowl, mix the garlic and brown sugar.  Place the pork loin, fat side up, on a rimmed baking sheet and rub with the garlic mixture.  Place in a 375°F oven for 50-60 minutes, until a thermometer in the center of the meat reads 150°F.  About 15 minutes before the loin should be finished, add the squashes, Vidalia, and olive oil in a saute pan over medium heat.  Saute until tender and lightly browned.

 

Meal 3:  Garlic Roasted Chicken with Green Beans and Tuscan Grains  $5.30

  • 1 ½ lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 1 ½ lbs green beans, ends removed
  • 1 box Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad Tuscan Grains and ingredients per directions

Directions:  Place the chicken breasts in an oven proof pan.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then top with the garlic.  Cover with foil and bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour, until no pink remains in the thickest part of the chicken.  Steam the green beans in a pan or the microwave.  Prepare the salad as directed on the package.

Meal 4:  Steak & Salad $6.12

  • 1 lb eye of round steak
  • 1 bunch kale, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, chopped
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • ½ bunch radishes, sliced
  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced
  • ½ lb roma tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 bottle dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  Grill or broil the steak to desired doneness.  Let rest and slice thin.  Place the vegetables in a bowl.  Top with steak and dressing.

Meal 5:  Brats and Mac & Cheese  $6.77

  • 1 pkgs Meijer brats
  • 1 ½ lbs yellow onions, sliced
  • 1 pkg Meijer hotdog buns
  • 2 boxes Meijer Mac & Cheese and ingredients per directions

Directions:  Place the brats in a slow cooker.  Top with onions, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Serve in buns.  Prepare the mac & cheese according to the package directions.

Meal 6:  Beefy Mac  $5.51

  • 1 box Mueller’s elbow pasta
  • 1 jar Ragu pasta sauce, any variety
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped

Directions:  Cook the pasta according to the package directions.  Drain and return to the pot.  While the pasta is cooking, brown the ground beef and onions and drain.  Add to the pot of cooked pasta.  Stir in the pasta sauce and bring to a light simmer.

This week, six delicious meals will only cost you $32.30!  It’s a great week to be a Meijer shopper!
