Meijer Meal Planning Week 7/23: 6 Meals $35 Bucks

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based on a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meals from Meijer are easy and won’t break the bank this week!  Check out these six mouth watering meals!

Meal 1:  Italian Chicken with Fresh Green Beans  $4.72

  • 5 lb whole chicken, rinsed
  • 1 T dried oregano (pantry)
  • 1 t dried basil (pantry)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • ½ t ground pepper (pantry)
  • Olive oil (pantry)
  • 1 ½ lb green beans, washed and ends trimmed
  • 3 T butter (pantry)

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the oregano, basil, garlic, salt, and pepper.  Drizzle in enough olive oil to make a paste.  Rub the mixture on the chicken and place in a deep baking dish.  Cover with foil and bake in a 375°F oven for 1 ½ hours.  Remove the foil and bake an additional ½ hour or until the juices run clear when cut near the thigh joint.  Remove from the oven and let rest, covered, for 15 minutes.  In a saute pan, heat the butter to melting over medium high heat.  Add the beans and cook until browned and crisp-tender, about 4 or 5 minutes.  Sprinkle with salt and serve with the chicken.

Meal 2:  Steak and Summer Veggie Stir Fry  $5.04

  • 3 T peanut oil (pantry)
  • 1 lb eye of round steaks, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 lb zucchini and summer squash, julienned
  • 1 pkg sliced mushrooms
  • 1 onion, chopped (pantry)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 2 T Chinese brown sauce (pantry)
  • 2 T soy sauce (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)

Directions:  Place the rice and water in a saucepan.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.  Heat the peanut oil over medium high heat in a saute pan.  Add the onion and steak; saute until a bit of pink remains in the center of the meat, 3-4 minutes.  Add in the vegetables and stir, cooking until crisp-tender.  Add in the sauces, stir, and serve over the rice.

Meal 3:  Meatloaf Burgers with Chips  $6.89

  • 1 ½ lb ground beef
  • 1 egg (pantry)
  • ¼ C bread crumbs (pantry)
  • ½ t salt (pantry)
  • ¼ t ground pepper (pantry)
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • 2 T grated parmesan cheese (pantry)
  • ¼ C ketchup (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Meijer hamburger buns
  • 1 pkg Lay’s potato chips, any flavor

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, oregano, and cheese.  Form into four patties.  Grill, broil, or pan fry to desired doneness.  Top with ketchup and allow to glaze.  Serve on the hamburger buns with chips.

Meal 4:  Chicken Sausage with Wild Mushroom Ravioli  $8.99

  • 1 pkg Meijer Roasted Garlic and Asiago chicken sausage
  • 1 jar Classico Alfredo sauce
  • 1 pkg Three Bridges Wild Mushroom Ravioli

Directions:  Grill or bake the sausage until cooked throughout.  Cut into bite sized slices.  Heat the sauce in a saucepan to almost simmering; add in the chicken sausage and bring to a full simmer.  Prepare the ravioli per the package directions.  Serve the sauce and sausage over the ravioli.

Meal 5: Taco Pizzas  $5.40

  • 4 Mission flour tortillas
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 1 jar ChiChi’s chunky salsa
  • 1 pkg Meijer shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Directions:  Brown the ground beef and drain.  Place a tortilla on a baking sheet.  Cover with salsa, like a pizza.  Sprinkle with beef and cheese.  Bake in a 400°F oven for 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and tortilla is browned.  Cut and serve.

Meal 6:  Grilled Smoked Sausage with Salad  $3.96

  • 1 pkg Eckrich smoked sausage
  • 4 Meijer hotdog buns
  • 2 onions, sliced (pantry)
  • 1 lb green leaf lettuce, cleaned and chopped
  • 2 salad cucumbers, sliced
  • ½ lb tomatoes on the vine, chopped
  • Salad dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  Saute the onions in butter until caramelized.  Grill the sausage and serve in the buns with the onions.  Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl and toss.

This week, six delicious meals will cost only $35!
