Meijer Meal Planning Week 7/3: 6 Meals -$38 Bucks

This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Wow!  The summer is flying by so fast!  Don’t let these great Meijer deals fly with it!  Check out these delicious meals that will keep your family fed for less.

Meal 1:  Easy Slow Cooker Italian Sausage  $6.67

  • 1 lb Meijer Italian sausage links
  • 3 green peppers, seeds removed and sliced
  • 2 onions, sliced (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Meijer’s hot dog buns

Directions:  Place the sausage in a slow cooker, top with peppers and onions.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Serve in hot dog buns with chips, if desired.

Meal 2:  Tortellini Bake  $6.98

  • 1 lb ground beef, browned and drained
  • 1 pkg Meijer frozen tortellini, any variety
  • 1 jar Ragu pasta sauce
  • Water (pantry)

Directions:  Layer the ground beef and tortellini in a lightly greased casserole dish.  Top with the jar of pasta sauce.  Refill the jar ⅔ full with warm water and pour over the mixture.  Cover and bake in a 375°F oven for 1 hour, until the sauce is bubbling and the pasta is tender.  Serve with parmesan, if desired.

Meal 3:  Sloppy Dogs and Cheetos  $4.85

  • 1 pkg Oscar Meyer hot dogs cut into 1” pieces
  • 1 can Manwich, any variety
  • 1 pkg Meijer’s hot dog buns
  • 1 bag Cheetos, any variety

Directions:  Brown the hot dogs in a saute pan over medium heat.  When lightly browned, add the Manwich sauce and simmer 10-15 minutes, until bubbly and thick.  Serve in the buns with Cheetos.

Meal 4:  Baked Pork with Cabbage and Green Beans  $6.29

  • 2 lb pork loin
  • 2 lb fresh green cabbage
  • 1 t garlic powder (pantry)
  • 1 t ground cumin (pantry)
  • ¾ t salt (pantry)
  • ¼ t ground pepper (pantry)
  • ½ jar Meijer apricot preserves
  • 1 lb green beans, washed and ends removed

Directions:  In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.  Rub the meat with the mixture and set aside for 15 minutes.  Slice the cabbage ½ inch thick and place in a large casserole dish.  Top with the pork loin, cover, and bake in a 375°F oven for 1 ½  hours, until the center of the pork loin reads 140°F on a meat thermometer.  Spoon the preserves over the top and return to the oven for another 10 minutes, until the preserves glaze the meat.  Steam the beans in the microwave to desired doneness.

Meal 5:  Grilled Chicken with Baked Beans and Salad  $5.91

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs
  • Salt (pantry)
  • Pepper (pantry)
  • 1 can Bush’s Baked Beans, any variety
  • 1 bag Dole chopped salad, any variety

Directions:  Salt and pepper the chicken.  Grill over medium heat until no pink remains near the bones, turning occasionally.  Heat the beans in a saucepan over medium heat, simmering 5-10 minutes.  Prepare the salad as directed on the package.

Meal 6:  Barbecued Pork Butt with Sauteed Summer Squashes  $7.73

  • 2 lb pork butt
  • 1 bottle Open Pit BBQ sauce, any variety
  • 1 pkg Meijer hamburger buns
  • 2 lb zucchini and yellow squash, cut into ½ inch pieces
  • 1 onion (pantry), chopped
  • 2 T butter (pantry)

Directions:  Place the pork butt in a slow cooker and top with the BBQ sauce.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Remove from the slow cooker and pull apart, discarding any fat.  Return to the slow cooker, cover, and let simmer while the squash is cooking.  Melt the butter in a saute pan over medium-high heat.  Add the squash and onion, sauteeing until the onion starts to turn clear.  Remove and season with salt and pepper.  Serve the pork in the buns.
