Meijer Meal Planning Week 7/5: 6 Meals Under $43

These are pretty healthy meals, at a low Meijer price that will be pretty quick and easy to make any night of the week. You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Fire up your grill!  It’s a great week to shop Meijer with all of the wonderful deals that will keep your grill full as well as the bellies you feed.

Meal 1:  Bacon Wrapped Pork Chops with Fresh Green Beans and Baked Potatoes  $7.17

  • 1 ½ lbs pork loin, cut into 4 chops
  • 8 slices John Morrell bacon
  • 2 lbs fresh green beans
  • 2 T butter (pantry)
  • 4 Russet potatoes, scrubbed, pierced, and wrapped in foil
  • butter and other toppings for the potatoes (pantry)

Directions:  Heat grill to medium.  Place potatoes on grill rack, away from burners for indirect heating.  Grill for 45 minutes.  Wrap the bacon around the outside edge of the chops, securing with toothpicks if needed.  Place on grill and turn over occasionally.  Chops are done when no pink remains in the center.  Snap the ends off the beans and rinse.  Heat a saute pan over medium high heat and add butter.  When melted, add the beans and saute, turning frequently.  Beans are done when they are bright green and crisp, approximately 4-5 minutes.  Serve hot.

 

Meal 2:  Sausage and Fries  $5.99

  • 1 pkg Hillshire Farm smoked sausage, any variety
  • 1 pkg Aunt Millie’s Buns
  • 1 bag Meijer fries

Directions:  Prepare the fries according to the package directions.  Grill the sausage to your liking.  Serve in buns with fries.

 

Meal 3:  Chef Salad $7.15

  • 1 pkg organic salad blend
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced
  • 1 pkg grape tomatoes
  • ¼ lb each Old Country Store deli turkey and ham, diced
  • 1 pkg Kraft shredded cheese, any variety
  • 2 eggs, hard boiled, peeled and chopped (pantry)
  • salad dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  Layer the ingredients.  Serve with dressing.

 

Meal 4:  Chuckeye Steak with Fried Cabbage  $7.95

  • 1 ½ lb boneless chuckeye steak
  • medium green cabbage, about 5 lbs
  • 4 cloves garlic (pantry)
  • ¼ C olive oil (pantry)
  • salt/pepper (pantry)

Directions:  Season steak with salt and pepper; grill or broil as desired.  Chop the cabbage into thin strips.  Heat the olive oil in a stock pot over medium-high heat.  Add the garlic and cabbage, turning to coat with the oil.  Fry until cabbage wilts and caramelizes, about 10 minutes.  Add ¼ cup of water and cover, turning heat to low.  Let simmer 10 minutes.  Serve hot.

 

Meal 5:  Easy Homemade Pasta Sauce with Artisan Bread  $8.08

  • 3 15 oz cans Meijer Naturals tomato sauce
  • 1 6 oz can Meijer Naturals tomato paste
  • 2 t dried oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t garlic salt (pantry)
  • ½ t dried basil (pantry)
  • ground black pepper (pantry)
  • 1 box Mueller’s pasta, any variety
  • 1 loaf Cracked Black Pepper Parmesan bread

Directions:  Place the tomatoes and seasonings in a slow cooker.  Stir and cover; set to low for 4 hours.  Cook the pasta according to the package directions.  Serve with bread.

 

Meal 6:  (Imitation) Lobster Crab Cakes with Broccoli  $6.33

  • 1 pkg Louis Kemp imitation lobster
  • 1 pkg Louis Kemp imitation crab
  • 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
  • 2 C breadcrumbs (pantry)
  • 1 bunch green onions, diced
  • salt/pepper
  • ¼ C olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced (pantry)
  • ½ 32 oz bag Meijer frozen broccoli

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the lobster, crab, cream cheese, onions, garlic, salt and pepper.  Form into patties and coat with breadcrumbs.  Heat the oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat.  Carefully place the patties in the oil and allow to crisp.  Flip over and crisp the other side.  Prepare the broccoli as desired.  Serve hot.

These six delicious meals weigh in at only $42.67.  That’s right!  For only $42.67, you can feed your family of four amazingly all week!  Happy Shopping!
