For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meal 1: Baked Pierogies with Vegetables $5.93

  • 2 boxes Mrs. T’s pierogies, any flavor
  • 1 jar Ragu sauce, red or white
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions: Place the pierogies in a casserole dish, top with the sauce, adding some water (or milk for white sauce). Cover and bake in a 375°F oven for 1 hour, until bubbly and the pierogies are tender. Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 2: Meatloaf, Baked Potatoes, and Vegetables $6.75

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 C bread crumbs (pantry)
  • 2 eggs (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • ½ t pepper (pantry)
  • ½ t garlic powder (pantry)
  • Ketchup or barbecue sauce (pantry)
  • 4 Russet potatoes, scrubbed and poked
  • Butter and sour cream, if desired (pantry)
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions: In a bowl, mix the beef, bread crumbs, eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into a loaf on a rimmed baking sheet and bake in a 400°F oven for 1 hour, or until no pink remains in the center. Top with ketchup or barbecue sauce and allow to bake another 5-10 minutes. While the meatloaf is baking, place the potatoes on the rack and bake until tender when pierced with a fork. Serve with butter and sour cream if desired. Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 3: Roasted Apples, Sausage, and Cabbage $3.98

  • ½ Red cabbage, sliced thin
  • 1 onion, sliced thin (pantry)
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1 T red wine vinegar (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Hillshire Farms smoked sausage

Directions: Place the cabbage, onion, apple, and vinegar in a Dutch oven or casserole dish. Toss to coat. Top with sausage and bake in a 400°F oven for 1 hour.

Meal 4: Teriyaki Pork Loin with Rice $6.14

  • 2 lb pork loin
  • 1 can Meijer pineapple chucks in juice
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • ½ C soy sauce (pantry)
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)

Directions: Place the pork loin in a slow cooker. Top with pineapple with juice, red pepper, soy sauce, and garlic. Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. Place the rice in a large sauce pan with the water. Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes, until the water is absorbed. Serve the pork mixture over the rice.

Meal 5: Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos $9.49

  • 1 ½ lb chicken breasts
  • 2 pkgs Ortega Taco Seasoning
  • 1 bottle Ortega taco sauce
  • ½ bag Kraft shreeded pepper jack cheese
  • ½ bag Dole shredded lettuce
  • 1 pkg La Banderita soft taco tortillas

Directions: Place the chicken and taco seasoning in a slow cooker, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. Remove the chicken, shred with two forks, and return to the slow cooker on low. Serve in the soft tortillas with taco sauce, cheese, and lettuce.

Meal 6: Hot dogs and French Fries $4.27

  • 1 pkg Oscar Meyer hot dogs
  • 1 pkg Meijer hot dog buns
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen French fries, any variety
  • Condiments, as desired (pantry)

Directions: Prepare the fries as directed on the package. Broil or saute the hot dogs until browned. Serve in the buns with condiments.
