Meijer Meal Planning Week 9/3: 6 Meals $38 Bucks

This is the week of 9/3-9/9, bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based on a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meal 1:  Braised Italian Beef with Pasta  $9.58

  • 1 ½ lb bottom round roast, cut into bite sized cubes
  • 3 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 2 onions, chopped (pantry)
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 28 oz can Meijers petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t basil (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 1 box Meijer pasta, any variety

Directions:  In a heavy bottomed Dutch oven, brown the meat in the olive oil over medium high heat until slightly crispy.  Add the onions and green pepper.  Saute until the onions turn clear.  Add the tomatoes and seasoning, cover, turn to low, and simmer for 40 minutes.  Cook the pasta per the package directions and serve with the beef mixture over the top.

 

Meal 2:  Roasted Chicken with Mashed Potatoes $4.92

  • 4 ½ lb whole chicken
  • 1 lemon (pantry)
  • 1 onion, peeled (pantry)
  • 2 ½ lbs white potatoes, cubed
  • Butter (pantry)
  • Milk (pantry)

Directions:  Rinse the cavity of the chicken and place in a roasting pan.  Salt the cavity liberally and place the onion and lemon inside.  Place in a 425°F oven for 1 ½ hours, until a thermometer reads 165°F when placed in the thickest part of the thigh.  While the chicken is cooking, place the potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water.  Salt liberally and bring to a boil for 20 minutes or until tender.  Drain and mash with butter and milk to your desired consistency.  Serve with the chicken.

 

Meal 3: Italian Green Beans  $5.56

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 2 lb green beans, rinsed and ends trimmed
  • 1 28 oz can Meijer Naturals crushed tomatoes
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:  Brown the ground beef with the onions and garlic; drain.  Add the green beans and tomatoes, and season with oregano, salt, and pepper.  Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.  Serve with crusty bread, if desired.

Meal 4:  Grilled Pork Chops with Salad  $5.60

  • 1 ½ lb bone in pork chops
  • Worcestershire sauce (pantry)
  • 1 bag Dole salad blend
  • ½ lb tomatoes on the vine, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced
  • Salad dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  Grill the pork chops over medium heat until no pink remains in the middle.  Baste with the Worcestershire sauce while grilling.  Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl.

 

Meal 5:  Hotdogs with Mac and Cheese  $5.96

  • 1 pkg Oscar Mayer hot dogs
  • 1 pkg Meijer hot dog buns
  • 2 boxes Velveeta shells and cheese

Directions:  Pan fry or broil the hot dogs to the desired doneness.  Prepare the pasta as directed on the package.  Serve the hot dogs in the buns with desired condiments.

 

Meal 6:  Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Rice  $5.88

  • 2 lb boneless pork loin
  • 3 T citrus juice (lemon, orange, lime) (pantry)
  • 2 t Italian seasoning (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • 1 t chili powder (pantry)
  • 1 t garlic powder (pantry)
  • 1 t ground cumin (pantry)
  • ½ t smoked paprika (pantry)
  • ¼ t ground black pepper (pantry)
  • 2 pkg Knorr rice sides, any variety

 

Directions:  Pierce the tenderloin.  In a bowl, mix the seasonings.  Rub on the pork loin and place in a roasting pan.  Pour the citrus juice over the top.  Bake in a 400°F oven for 40-50 minutes.  Allow resting in the pan on the counter for 10 minutes.  Slice and serve.  Prepare the rice according to the package directions.

This week, six delicious meals will cost only $37.50!
