Meijer Meal Planning Week 1/22: 6 Meals $39 Bucks

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

There are some awesome sales at Meijer this week, and that means great meals for you and your family for less.  Check out these fresh meals that will make them smile and keep them happy!

 

Meal 1:  Deviled Chicken with Rice  $1.98

  • 1 lb split chicken breasts
  • 2 T butter, melted (pantry)
  • ½ C honey (pantry)
  • ¼ C mustard (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • 1 t curry powder (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)
  • Rice (pantry- you can do minute rice or jasmine rice)

 

Directions:  Place the chicken in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the butter, honey, mustard, garlic, salt, and curry powder.  Pour over the chicken, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  About 30 minutes before serving, place the rice (this can be minute rice or white or brown rice. Personally, I prefer to use jasmine rice).  and water in a saucepan.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the water.  Serve the chicken over the rice, topping it with the sauce.

 

Meal 2:  Goulash  $5.74

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 medium onion, diced (pantry)
  • 1 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 1 28 oz can Meijer Naturals petite diced tomatoes with juice (pantry)
  • 1 jar Ragu traditional sauce
  • 1 jar water (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 lb Meijer Green Box elbow macaroni

Directions:  Brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic in olive oil until no pink remains.  Add the tomatoes, sauce, and water.  Simmer 1 hour.  Cook the macaroni as directed on the package, cooking for half the time.  Drain and add to the sauce.  Cover and remove from heat for 10 minutes.  Serve with parmesan if desired.

 

Meal 3:  Turkey Barley Vegetable Soup  $8

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 2 carrots, sliced (pantry)
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced (pantry)
  • 2 boxes True Goodness chicken stock
  • ½ C Gefen pearl barley
  • 3 C New Star baby spinach

Directions:  Brown the turkey and onion with the olive oil in a stock pot.  Add the carrots, celery, and chicken stock.  Simmer 30 minutes, until carrots are tender.  Add the barley and cook until tender, 25 to 30 minutes.  Stir in the spinach and serve.

 

Meal 4:  Teriyaki Country Ribs with Rice and Vegetables  $4.23

  • 2 lb country ribs
  • ¼ C apple cider vinegar (pantry)
  • ¼ C honey (pantry)
  • ¼ C soy sauce (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the ribs in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the vinegar, honey, soy sauce, and garlic.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  About 30 minutes before serving, place the rice and water in a sauce pan.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes or until the water is absorbed.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 5:  Baked Cod with Salad  $8.12

  • 1 pkg Meijer frozen cod, thawed and patted dry
  • 2 romaine hearts, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • ½ pint grape tomatoes, halved
  • 5 mini sweet peppers, seeded and chopped
  • Salad dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  Place the cod on a baking sheet.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake in a 425°F oven for 10-15 minutes, until the fish flakes easily with a fork.  Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl and serve.

Meal 6:  Ground Turkey and Quinoa One Pan Meal  $11.09

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 1 onion, sliced (pantry)
  • 1 16 oz container white mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 C Taylor Farms baby kale leaves
  • 1 28 oz can Meijer Naturals petite diced tomatoes, drained
  • 3 C cooked Ancient Harvest Inca Red quinoa

Directions:  Heat the oil over medium high heat in a deep sided skillet.  Brown the ground turkey, onions, and mushrooms.  Season with salt and pepper.  Add tomatoes and kale, cooking until the kale is wilted.  Add in the quinoa, stirring to mix.  Serve with parmesan if desired.

This week, six fresh meals will only cost you $39.16.
