Meijer Meal Planning Week 2/19: 6 Meals $45 Bucks

It’s a new shopping week at Meijer and my birthday week! (I turned 36 yesterday on the 19th!)

This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

The sales are good this week at Meijer, and they are taking us on a round the world culinary tour!  From Curry Roasted Chicken to Italian Pork Loin to Cuban Country Ribs, these meals will leave your family with smiles on their faces.  Check them out below!

Meal 1:  Curry Roasted Chicken with Rice and Avocado Salad  $5.95

  • 4 lb whole chicken, rinsed and cavity salted
  • 2 T butter, melted (pantry)
  • 2 T curry powder (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • ½ pkg campari tomatoes, diced
  • 3 T apple cider vinegar (pantry)
  • 3 T olive oil (pantry)
  • Garlic salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:  Place the chicken in a roasting pan.  Brush with butter mixed with curry powder.  Cover tightly and bake in a 400°F oven for 2 hours.  Uncover and brown the skin, basting with juices.  Place the rice and water in a saucepan.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.  Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl.  Serve the chicken over the rice with juices.

 

Meal 2:  Meatloaf, Mac & Cheese, and Vegetables  $8.98

  • 2 lb ground chuck
  • 2 eggs (pantry)
  • ½ C breadcrumbs (pantry)
  • 2 T Montreal steak seasoning (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Cracker Barrel Mac & Cheese
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the meat, eggs, breadcrumbs, and seasoning.  Form into a loaf and place on a rimmed baking sheet.  Bake in a 400°F oven for 1 ½ hours.  Top with ketchup or barbecue sauce if desired.  Prepare the mac & cheese and vegetables as directed on the packages.

Meal 3:  Chili Dogs with French Fries  $8.01

  • 1 pkg Oscar Mayer hot dogs
  • 1 can Hormel chili with no beans
  • ½ pkg Kraft shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 pkg Meijer hot dog buns
  • 1 pkg Ore Ida fries, any variety

Directions:  Simmer, broil, or bake the hot dogs.  Heat the chili in a small saucepan.  Prepare the fries as directed on the package.  To serve, place the hot dog in the bun, top with chili and cheese.

Meal 4:  Turkey Burgers with Salad  $8.83

  • 1 lb Jennie-O ground turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • ½ small onion, grated (pantry)
  • ½ pkg Meijer hamburger buns
  • 1 bag Dole salad mix
  • 1 red pepper, seeded and chopped
  • ½ container campari tomatoes
  • Salad dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the turkey, garlic and onion.  Form into patties and broil or saute until done throughout.  Serve on buns with condiments of choice.  Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl.

Meal 5:  Italian Pork Loin with Sweet Potatoes and Vegetables  $6.21

  • 2.5 lb boneless pork loin
  • 1 T oregano (pantry)
  • 1 t basil (pantry)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • ½ t rosemary (pantry)
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • Butter (pantry)
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables

Directions:  Place the pork loin, fat side up, in a slow cooker.  In a small bowl, mix the oregano, basil, garlic, rosemary, and olive oil.  Coat the pork loin, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Scrub and pierce the potatoes.  Bake in a 400°F oven for about 1 ½ hours, until tender throughout.  Serve with butter.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 6:  Cuban Country Ribs with Slaw  $7.24

  • 3 lb bone-in country ribs
  • ¼ C lime juice (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • ½ t salt (pantry)
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t cumin (pantry)
  • ½ t red pepper flakes (pantry)
  • ½ t ground black pepper (pantry)
  • 1 bag Mann’s Family Favorites Broccoli Coleslaw mix
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and diced
  • ¼ C fresh cilantro, minced
  • 1 T salt (pantry)
  • 2 t oregano (pantry)
  • ¼ C apple cider vinegar (pantry)
  • 2 t maple syrup (pantry)

Directions:  Place the ribs in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the lime juice, garlic, salt, 1 t oregano, cumin, red pepper and black pepper.  Rub the ribs with the mixture, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  In a bowl, mix the slaw mix, jalapeno peppers, cilantro, salt, 2 t oregano, vinegar, and syrup.  Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, but overnight works best.

This week, six delicious mouth watering meals will only cost $45.62!
