Meijer Meal Planning Week 6/19: 6 Meals $38 Bucks

This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meal 1: Hawaiian Pork Loin Chops with Vegetables  $4.84

  • 1 ½ lb pork loin chops
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (pantry)
  • 2 T olive or coconut oil
  • 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple with juice
  • ½ C ketchup (pantry)
  • ¼ C apple cider vinegar (pantry)
  • 2 T light brown sugar (pantry)
  • 1 T soy sauce (pantry)
  • 1 box Green Giant vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Sprinkle the chops with salt and pepper.  Heat a skillet over medium high heat.  Add the oil and chops.  Brown each side for 4 minutes.  In a bowl, mix the pineapple, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, and soy sauce.  Pour over the pork chops, cover, and turn down to low.  Cook for 30 minutes, until chops are tender and cooked through.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 2: Broccoli and Beef Flatbread  $6.33

  • 1 pkg Tiseo frozen bread dough, thawed
  • ½ lb ground beef, browned and drained
  • 1 broccoli crown, chopped
  • ½ red onion, sliced (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Meijer shredded mozzarella
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 1 T olive oil
  • Cornmeal for the pan (pantry)

Directions:  Dust a baking sheet with the cornmeal.  Press the bread dough into an oval.  Sprinkle with the olive oil, then top with the beef, broccoli, and onion.  Spread the cheese evenly over the top, then season with the salt and pepper.  Bake in a 425°F oven for 20-25 minutes.

Meal 3: Grilled Yogurt Chicken with Rice  $3.96

  • 1 ½ lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 ¼ C Meijer whole milk plain yogurt
  • ¼ t ground turmeric (pantry)
  • 1 ½ t ground cumin (pantry)
  • 1 t lemon juice (pantry)
  • Salt (pantry)
  • ½ t red pepper flakes (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)

Directions:  Place the chicken between layers of plastic wrap and pound flat to about ¼ inch thickness.  In a bowl, mix the yogurt, turmeric, cumin, juice, salt, and pepper flakes.  Add the chicken and turn to coat.  Allow to marinate for 10-20 minutes.  Remove from the bowl and place on a grill heated to about 500°F.  Cook 4-5 minutes, then turn to other side for another 4-5 minutes.  Chicken is done when center is no longer pink.  Place the rice and water in a large saucepan.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed.  Serve the chicken over the rice.

Meal 4: Steak over Salad  $8.54

  • 1 lb top round steak
  • 1 tub organic salad mix
  • ½ lb greenhouse tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ lb Vidalia onion, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, chopped
  • Dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions:  Prepare the steak with a bit of salt and pepper.  Grill or broil until desired doneness.  Slice thin.   Mix the salad mix, tomatoes, onion, and cucumber in a bowl.  Top with the steak and serve with the dressing of your choice.

Meal 5:  Easy Sausage Hashbrown Casserole  $6.46

  • 1 pkg Bob Evans sausage, browned and drained
  • 1 bag Ore Ida frozen hash browns
  • 1 C shredded cheddar
  • 6 eggs (pantry)
  • 2 C milk (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • ½ t pepper (pantry)

Directions:  Mix the cooked sausage, hashbrowns, and cheddar in a greased 9×13 pan.  In a bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.  Pour over the meat mixture.  Bake in a 350°F oven for 35-40 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Meal 6:  Slow Cooker Brats with Chips  $7.58

  • 1 pkg Meijer brats
  • 2 cans Meijer sauerkraut
  • 1 pkg Meijer hotdog buns
  • 1 bag Lays potato chips

Directions:  Place the undrained sauerkraut in a slow cooker.  Top with the brats and cover.  Set to low for 6-8 hours.  Serve the brats in the buns topped with sauerkraut.  Serve with chips.
